A good ride from the South Main Park in Orting (across from Trailside Cyclery) in Orting, up Foothills Trail to South Prairie, through Burnett and on to Wilkeson. We will continue on Carbonado South Prairie Rd up the hill to Carbonado where the road turns into the Burnett Fairfax Hwy. At 17.7 miles into the ride we will stop at the Fairfax Bridge to enjoy the view. Here the road turns onto the Carbon River Rd. We will continue to the Carbon River Ranger Station at 23.7 miles. The ride goes another 3 miles to our turnaround at The Carbon River Rainforest Trail. We will return generally along the same route.

Bring plenty of water and nourishment along. We will make several water stops, but there are no food stops once we get past Carbonado. Rest rooms are available at the start, South Prairie, Wilkeson, and the Carbonado Ranger Station.

Arrive 20 minutes early so you have time to ready your bike, sign the ride waiver, and listen to the Cascade SMART Safety talk.

For mentoring opportunity, please contact the Ride Leader at least two days in advance so that you have time to familiarize yourself with the route and discuss any route issues and raise any other questions.

If ride is cancelled due to weather it will be posted here in comments by 7:00am and ride leader will not be waiting at the start.

Come prepared to fix flats and have a plan for dealing with mechanical issues.

Cue sheet: See Route Link

Cue sheets will not be provided, please print one if desired.

Please send me an email if you have any questions or problems with pre-signing the waiver.

Please register for the ride by clicking on the Register Now button at the top of the page.  You need to be signed in to your Cascade account to do this.  If you don't want an account, come anyway and just sign the hold-harmless agreement at the start."
