A mid-week, hilly ride departing from Tukwila International Blvd Link station and ending at UW Stadium Link station. This ride is a one way trip. We'll ride through Burien, West Seattle, Alki Beach, Alaska Way/Elliot Bay Trail, Thomas St Bridge, lower Queen Anne, Westlake cycle track, and Burke Gilman Trail. There will be a coffee stop in Alki and great views of Puget Sound and downtown Seattle. Through Lincoln Park in West Seattle, we'll take a half mile stretch of hardpack gravel trail along the water. It was fine for my road bike.
Moderate pace with regroups on hills. New riders please read the information on the Cascade Free Group Rides page. Bring water, a snack, and all necessary tools & tubes in case they are needed. Online preregistration is appreciated.
This ride is a one way trip that starts at the Tukwila Intl. Blvd. Link station and ends at the UW Stadium station. So you may ride the Link to the Tukwilla start, and at the UW finish you may ride the Link home or back to Tukwila. The fare is $3 or less depending on the length of your trip and payable with an Orca card, cash, or credit card. According to Sound transit, each Link train can take 8 or 12 bikes depending on 2 or 3 car trains (4 bikes per car; 2 hanging and 2 standing). Trains depart every 10 minutes at midday. ST Link does not allow oversized, cargo,or tandem bicycles. Nor do they allow bike trailers. See links below for more information.
Please ride the Link to the ride start if that's convenient. If you drive to the start, there is parking at the Tukwila Link station. We will leave at 10 AM, but text Phil at the number above if you are running a few minutes late. If a ride is cancelled due to inclement weather, it will be posted here in the comment section by 8:00 a.m. and ride leaders will not be waiting at the start.
