Please join us for a LESS Hills ride! Midweek outdoor riding in evening with less steep hills is a weekly ride of about 20 miles with a few hills. It is a perfect way to add a little training for otherwise weekend riders without spending too much time. And it’s a great way to enjoy the long daylight of Pacific Northwest spring and summer! Don’t go to an indoor spinning class! Instead, ride with us!

Everyone is welcome, including those who aren't so sure about hill climbing, but please bring a smile and good attitude with you!

The start locations will be in North Seattle (Lower Woodland Park, Matthews Beach, View Ridge, etc.). We will ride on urban Seattle/Shoreline streets as well as some trails. We will keep the published pace on flats, but you can go uphills at your own pace. We will regroup at top of every hill. It’s nice to bring your own cue sheet. Please pack water, snack, and tools/tubes to fix a flat as always. Even though the majority of ride will be in daylight, please have your lights (both front and back) just in case.

This week we go south.  From Lower Woodland Park by Soccer Field #2, we'll ride through the Green Lake and Ravenna neighborhoods to Burke Gilman Trail.  We'll take low-traffic roads and follow the signed Lake Washington Trail to Lake Washington Boulevard. There is a long but gradual hill from Lake Washington Boulevard to access the I-90 Trail. We then will ride through Capitol Hill towards a beautiful lookout over Lake Union on Belmont Ave.  Then we will head towards South Lake Union and the Lake Union Trail before heading back to the ride start.  Scroll down for the GPS link and route's elevation profile.

Yes, there are restrooms and water at the start!

6:00pm is a roll out time. Please aim to arrive by 5:45 so you have time to get ready, sign the waiver, and listen to the safety briefing. Registering here will make the process easier and we can better preprare with appropriate number of Ride Leaders.

In addition to showers, any other hazardous conditions will cancel a ride. If a ride is cancelled due to hazardous conditions, the notice will be posted here in the comments section below, and on the Meetup announcement page two hours prior to the start time on the day of the ride. If that notice is posted, the ride leaders will not be at the start.
