South End Themed Ride #6-The Gorge (Moderate)
Ride Contact
Event has already happened.
Join us for a series of fun, educational and picturesque rides. Depending on the route, it might be to a historical site or just a ride to a Teriyaki joint. We plan on taking time for pictures and enjoying the scenery.
These rides will be in the South King and Pierce counties and will vary in miles and elevation. Paces offered, Steady (12 – 14 mph on flats), Moderate (14 – 16 mph on flats). Pace groups will use a common route each week.
Today’s Theme - The Green River Gorge, we will be heading out on a 42-mile ride. Leaving from the Auburn Outlet Mall we head up Lee Hill Road, make our way over to Covington Sawyer Rd, then tracking the smells of the Black Diamond Bakery where we'll stop for a warm pastry and cup of coffee. After the cup of joe and pastry, we will continue on to the Green River Gorge for a spectacular view and photo op. Now, it's time to work off the pastry as we climb out of the Gorge, make our way across the Enumclaw farmland and back down to the valley.
Planned Stops (photo ops): 20.8
Planned Restrooms: Approx 16.6
A helmet is a requirement, riders should be able to sustain the pace, know how to change a flat tire (and have the requisite equipment to do so).
