Join us for a series of fun, educational and picturesque rides.  Depending on the route, it might be to a historical site or just a ride to a hamburger joint. We plan on taking time for pictures and enjoying the scenery.

These rides will be in the South King and Pierce counties and will vary in miles and elevation.

Paces offered -- steady (12 – 14 mph on flats), moderate (14 – 16 mph on flats).  Brisk may be offered depending on Ride Leader availability. Pace groups will use a common route each week.

Today’s ride will take us up through Tacoma.  We will cycle through the Tacoma industrial area, climb above Commencement Bay to Stadium High School. Stadium is one of the most beautiful high schools and was the filming location for “10 Things I Hate About You”. The unique building was originally built in 1891 with the intention of it being a French château-inspired hotel, but eventually was turned into a high school in 1906. The iconic Stadium Bowl (the school’s stadium) is another wonderful photo opportunity. The area that built up around it is packed with history, unique streets with character and a story around every turn. To continue the history, our next historical landmark (no plan on stopping) is the Annie Wright School for girls, founded in 1884, is nestled in the beautiful North End neighborhood of Tacoma.

We will go past beautiful old homes on our way to the last scenic stop, the Holy Rosary Catholic Church built in 1921.
