Kick off 2017 and jump on your cycling goals with a quick metric century (plus a little extra). This is a training ride designed to jumpstart our New Year's resolutions and shake off some of the winter fur that has gathered around our midsections. Hopefully, we will be back in time for most of the football game. This loop takes us from West Seattle through the Renton Highlands to Cedar Grove and back through Southcenter. We will try to keep a vigourous pace (20 mph) on the flats. Please be prepared to handle your own mechanical issues (tube/air/ect), for the safety of the group we can not wait very long for mecanicals.
Steady rain, ice or snow cancels. In the event of a weather cancelation, I will post to the comment section below on Cascade.org; I will not be at the start. If conditions look questionable, check the website for updates in the morning. In consideration of your fellow cyclists long fenders are required unless roads are dry. If it is a rain-bike kind of day, the ride leader will likely be on a singlespeed with full coverage fenders.
Pre-Registration is greatly appreciated! Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early to check-in, get situated and listen to the safety briefing. We roll at 830.

Weather Conditions are favorable
With snow forecasted for the Seattle area i have been watching the weather closely. As of Saturday evening, the roads in the Southend are bare and wet. There is a chance of precipitation overnight, but the predictions are favorable regarding any accumulations.
Keep your fingers crossed, and have a safe New Years Eve. See you in 2017!
I am going to ride
There is snow everywhere, but not on the roads (near the start anyway). I will ride.
Canceled
Roads are too icy.
Stay safe!
