Highlight of this ride is the Middle Fork Road, which has recently been paved with super smooth new pavement. Expect quiet roads and some beautiful scenery while riding along the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie River. In addition, we will ride two other scenic loops - one north of Snoqualmie and one up to Rattlesnake Lake.

Food / water / restroom stops at mile 18 (restrooms and water), mile 24 (quick stop at gas station for food if needed), mile 36 (restrooms and water).

Mechanicals will not stop the group while we are on the loops around Snoqualmie and up to Rattlesnake Lake. Please be prepared to fix your own flats and other minor mechanicals. The Middle Fork Valley is a remote area with limited cellphone coverage, so we will stay together in case of mechanicals in that area.

Regroups will be frequent, and we will make sure the group stays together in the more remote areas of the route.

Steady rain will cancel the ride. We will cancel the ride before 9.00 PM on Friday evening if needed. Cancellation will be communicated on Cascade.org and Meetup.

LONG fenders are required on this ride.

Cue sheets will not be provided on the day of the ride. Please make sure you have the route loaded or print a cue sheet from RWGPS.

Please REGISTER using the Register now button at the top of this page, and RSVP on Meetup. We will be posting updates on Cascade and Meetup during the days before the ride if needed, e.g. if we need to shorten the route due to the weather.

Questions? Contact Maarten Brugmans.

Comments

Unfortunately the forecast predicts 2-4 inches of snow up at Rattlesnake Lake and in the Middle Fork Valley overnight, and another inch tomorrow morning, so we have no other option than to cancel the ride as the conditions will not be safe for a vigorous group ride.

I will be putting this ride back on the calendar soon for late December or January.
