Free Group Ride
Seattle Pastry Ride: Grand Pere Bakery (Moderate)
Event has already happened.
It's Fall, so that means time to ride for pastries!
Please join us for a fun ride to seek out a hole-in-the-wall bakery in the area! This week, we will head north from Lower Woodland Park (south of Green Lake) to Edmonds, Lynnwood, and Mountlake Terrace. We will have a bit more ups and downs than previous weeks, but none too hard to miss the yummy pastries for! The route will go through water front in Edmonds before a longish, but gentle climb on Olympic View Drive. We will then head down and enjoy French pastries at Grand Pere Bakery.
Bicycle-friendly costume is encouraged for this ride, but not required. We will ride by a cemetary if that will make you feel more into Halloween spirit.
A Ride Leader candidate, Piper Peterson will be leading/sweeping the route today.
Pace: Please note, we will ride within the posted pace on the flats with an equivalent effort up hills. If you plan to ride faster or slower, please come prepared to ride on your own so that each pace group does not have long wait times.
Regroups/Mechanicals: This will be a social ride with regroups at the top of bigger hills and at all critical turns along the way. We'll also enjoy some opportunities for photos at nice viewpoints. Please come prepared with the necessary equipment you may need to take care of flats or other mechanical problems. A cue sheet is available for you to print and is good to have in case you happen to get separated from the group.
Rest Stops: There are restrooms at the start. We will also have one mid-ride restroom stop at Lynndale Park at milepost 17. Bakery stop is at milepost 23.
Requirements: Please make sure to arrive in time for our safety brief (and sign the ride waiver). As is required with all Cascade rides, please ensure you wear a helmet. Come prepared with gear that is comfortable and appropriate for the distance/elevation/weather conditions.
RSVP: RSVP via Meetup and/or signing an e-waiver (follow a link just below the ride title if you are signed into Cascade.org) is not required, but encouraged for us to better plan appropriate number of Ride Leaders and for those small business establishment to bake enough yummies.
Cancellation Policy: In the event of a weather cancellation, a notice will be posted in the comments on this page at least two hours before the ride and the ride leaders will not be at the ride start location.
