Come ride with us on Cascade Advanced Training Series at Magnuson (CATS-m)! We are here to help you get ready for Seattle to Portland (STP), Ride Around Mount Rainier in One Day (RAMROD), Ride from Seattle to Vancouver and Party (RSVP) and any other long distance ride events you put your mind to while enjoying scenery and company.

CATS-m is held every Saturday from April to August from Magnuson Park. We will increase mileage and total accumulative elevation gain every week with one weekend of shorter "rest" ride before each big event listed above. The mileage will increase from 40 miles to 130 miles. Although CATS-m is a series, everyone is welcome to join at anytime of the season. Each route has stops every 15-20 miles for restrooms and water refilling and includes one longer food stop. However, each rider needs to carry his/her own food and snacks.

Every rider is expected to sustain and complete the route at the advertised pace without pacelining/drafting. If you are slower or faster than what we offer, it will be self-guided. Please bring a cue sheet and/or upload the route information (the link will be provided 1-2 weeks prior to the ride date) onto your GPS device before the ride start. Every rider is also expected to be able to fix a flat and other minor mechanicals.

In addition to steady rain, any other hazardous conditions will cancel a ride. If a ride is cancelled due to weather and hazardous conditions, it will be posted here in the comment section 2 hours prior to the start time and ride leaders will not be waiting at the start.

Note: Restrooms are at the start. 8:00 am is roll out time. Please come at least 15 min before the start time to sign a waiver and listen to the safety and route briefing.

We have decided to repeat this route from 5/21/16 because we cancelled the ride.

There are no rides shown for the CATS series after the end of May, with the last CATS ride being May 28. The description says they will continue until August. Has the CATS series been discontinued? I see that the Redmone cycling Club's RAMROD training series rides are now listed, which seems the next logical option for me since I am training for the STP this year, and the RAMROD in 2017, but I would prefer the CATS series, because the ride starts are much closer to my home.

Thanks! I have enjoyed the rides so far, too bad the weather has been so cold and rainy for the last 2.
