An easy ride, mostly along the Centennial Trail. We'll explore a bit of the area to the east of the trail, then reconnect with it and follow it all the way to Lake Cassidy. Coming back, we'll head over toward Lake Stevens, then stop at the Machias cemetery to get in the mood for Halloween. We'll rejoin the trail at the Machias rest area. On our return to Snohomish, we'll stop at the Trails End Taproom for lunch and a beverage. Post ride bonus cemetery: After we return to the start point, anyone interested is welcome to come along to the Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery, about 1.3 miles west of town. It features a fine monument to fallen Union soldiers.
Bring money for lunch, water and snacks, and a spare tube and tools for flat fixing. Come early for the safety briefing -- we'll try to leave promptly at 10am.
Directions: From Hwy 9 Northbound, take the ramp toward Snohomish. Turn right onto 1st St. We'll meet in front of the Snohomish public restroom at 1st St. and Avenue B., but please don't park right in the downtown area. There is a designated parking area west of downtown at around 1st and Ave. E with ample spaces on gravel, on both sides of the road.
