Are you interested in biking to the Seattle Bike Show? If you do, then please join me as we’ll bike to this fun event. We’ll start at the Old Renton City Hall and head westbound to the Green River Trail and Duwamish Trail; then eastbound at the trail on the West Seattle Bridge and northbound at the Elliot Bay Trail to go to the Century Link Field. When we arrive at the event, this will be the end of the ride since I would like for you all to enjoy as much time as you want at the event. The pace of this ride is based on having no wind. If we have a headwind, the pace will be lower; if we have a tailwind, the pace may be higher. Keep this in mind when deciding to do this ride.
It would be very helpful for you to refer to the links provided on how to return to the starting point of the ride (you’re more than welcome to join me to return to our cars). Please make sure to bring enough money to get into the bike event ($10 for non-members; $8 for CBC members); also bring enough money for food/souvenirs (or you can bring your own snacks; also make to have something to store your souvenirs). In addition, bring a lock for your bike (and/or a front bike light in case you’re planning to return in the late afternoon just in case).
Riders should bring a spare tube, tools and the know-how to fix a flat. Please arrive at the start by 8:45 am for the safety briefing so we can roll promptly at 9:00 am. Restrooms are located approx. ¼ mile northeast of the start (turn left onto Houser Way from the south end of the parking lot…use the sidewalk to go to the restrooms due to heavy car volume).
The ride leader will not be at the ride start should inclement weather meet the definition for cancellation (showers, ice/snow, steady rain). Ride cancellation will be announced in the Comments Section below at least two (2) hours prior to the ride start. If you have questions about the weather, please call 818-590-8167, preferably before you leave for the ride.
