How about a different ("better"?) alternative to shopping in malls, big box stores, or....? This social ride from Marymoor along Lk Sammamish, into Bellevue, and returning to Marymoor provides a clear change from shopping......although there might be time during the ride to discuss other new bike related things that could transform from being "wishes" to become "necessities" during the upcoming holiday season.
Riders can ride on their own, in small groups, or with the ride leader. Faster paced riders are welcome but for them the ride becomes self-guided. Riders should have two spare tubes, a pump, tools, and the knowledge to use them. In the event of wet surfaces, fenders (and buddy flaps) would be appreciated - riders without them may be asked to have a little extra separation from the other riders to avoid the road spray.
Please note that we will meet at the trail parking behind Whole Foods off of 70th street, a few blocks from the far east parking lot at Marymoor.

RIde Update (Thursday 27 Nov)
Folks
They are predicting a "soaker" for Friday.....we'll try to make a good call on the ride status on Friday morning when we see what the rain fronts are bringing us. Let's hope the weather guys missed their predictions here by a little bit as we just need a couple of hours!
Weather Update Thursday Evening
The weather forecast is still projected to be pretty rainy at ride time....we'll assess in the morning and try to post something by 0800 if looks like it won't work and we have a weather cancel. I will be at the ride start in any event in Marymoor. The website at http://www.wunderground.com/q/z...? is showing 100% chance of precip and a rain total tomorrow of 1.29 inches!
Ride Is Canceled Due to Rain
Looking outside and at several doppler maps, the forecast (which seems too reliable this time) is projecting 100% chance of rain at Marymoor Park during the ride time - the rain is also pretty heavy which results in standing water, diminished visibility, and generally more difficult riding conditions. Accordingly, I am canceling the ride today at 10am. My regrets but the weather didn't cooperate today as it did yesterday. I will be at the start (not to ride however!) but inform anyone who may this notice or the one I will also post on Meetup. Hopefully we can find another ride together in the near future!
Glad to see no one at the start today! It was pouring rain!
Rain was heavy at the ride start time and location. Everyone either used good judgment or got the info that the ride was canceled today!
