This beautiful route will take us along the east side of Lake Washington to the I-90 Trail and onto Mercer Island. We will ride across the north end of Mercer Island and then cross over the I-90 Bridge to Leschi where we’ll stop at Starbucks and enjoy a nice mid-ride break before continuing back to Renton.
Please join Jeri, Judy, and Susan for a ride around the south end of Lake Washington. Jeri is a new ride leader candidate. Please support her and come ride with us. Fresh air and scenic views on a great route with fellow riders will make this a great day to be on your bike. Don’t let the winter blahs keep you away. Winter rides are fun and they make those mid-ride coffee breaks exceptional! I mean what could be better than a hot coffee, latte, or mocha on a rainy or yes, it can happen here in the PNW, a sunny winter day?
Please arrive early enough so you have ample time to get your bike ready, hear the SMART briefing, and sign the ride waiver.
Long fenders are absolutely required if there is a chance of rain or the roads are wet.
Weather: Steady rain cancels. If the weather is questionable check back on the day of the ride for weather updates. I usually ride unless the conditions are bad, i.e. steady rain, high wind, ice, snow, zombie sightings.

Ride Cancelled as of 7:30am this morning
Good Morning Everyone: I posted the cancellation on Meetup before 7:30am. After looking at the radar for today and the weather forecast is calling for rain and is suppose to end at around noon. I am going to play this safe and cancel the ride due to inclement weather conditions (steady rain). I am very sorry to do this as I am sure that we were all looking forward to a fun ride. Let's hope for better weather so that we can enjoy bike rides.
