Plenty of distance and hill climbing to build up for the summer season. We’ll start in Puyallup, ride through Tacoma, across the Narrows Bridge, and across Fox Island all the way to Fishing Pier park at the far end. Returning along much of the same route, except we’ll ride along the Puyallup River back to Puyallup.
o Distance: 62 miles
o Terrain: 3,700 ft of elevation
o Regroup Policy: Top of hills and/or when the route might be confusing.
o Weather Cancellation: Steady rain cancels. But it will need to be heavy, steady rain. The current forecast is for the possibility of rain, so be prepared to ride in the rain.
I will not be at the ride start should conditions be as noted in “Weather Cancellation” above. I will announce the cancellation in the comments section below at least 2 hours prior to the ride start and will monitor my phone and/or email listed in the Contact information. If you have questions about the weather, please call (or email) before you leave for the ride.
Please bring a cue sheet or load the route on a GPS unit.
If it is wet or raining, long fenders (with buddy flaps) are highly encouraged. No one wants to ride in someone's rooster tail. If the roads are wet and your bike is not equipped with fenders, you will be asked to ride at the rear to prevent spraying others. Mechanicals are the responsibility of each rider, so we will generally not ask the entire group to wait. Please be sure you have the equipment and knowledge to change a flat and handle whatever else comes up. Group will wait at ride leader's discretion.
Restrooms at the start, and at the Fishing Pier.
We’ll roll at 9 AM, so please arrive ready to ride by 8:45 AM to allow time to sign the waiver and go over the route.
Cue sheet coming, I'll add a link.
