If you teach a kid to bike, they may grow up to become daily bike commuters–or even governor of the most bike-friendly state in the nation.
Former Washington state Gov. Jay Inslee was among the approximately 200 people who pedaled to Cascade’s 2025 Bike Everywhere Luncheon on April 30 at the Sheraton Seattle Downtown.

The Luncheon was a Who’s Who of influential bike advocates, supporters, bike-friendly elected officials, business leaders, transportation officials, and Cascade donors. More than 450 people attended to celebrate Cascade’s leadership in advancing youth bike education statewide.

Long before the festivities began, however, Cascade staff arrived to set up a bike corral in the underground parking garage.

Inslee was among the early arrivals, rolling up on his mountain bike and smiling for photos.

They came on all styles of bikes, wearing everything from cycling jerseys and shorts to suits and fashionable business attire.

Check out more photos below of the bike styles and smiles of the Cascade supporters and allies who used our complimentary bike valet service. We hope they will inspire you to join us in riding your bike all month long in May during Bike Everywhere Month.

The images show that bicycles are for everyone, and that anyone can be a bike advocate. And all those smiles? They prove what we all know to be true: biking to destinations is healthy and joyous compared to the hassle of driving and parking.
