Friday, Sept. 19 is PARK(ing) Day, an annual worldwide community design event in which people and organizations transform parking spaces into temporary pop-up public parks. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Seattleites will have the opportunity to redesign and re-imagine their streetscapes at almost 50 pop-up parks, and experience a more playful, creative and livable city.

You can find a pop-up park in your neighborhood by visiting Seattle Department of Transportation's event website and checking out the park map. Cascade will participate by installing pop-up protected bike lanes along both sides of 9th Avenue between Denny Way and Thomas Street in South Lake Union. Come on down and experience the relaxed comfort of a low-stress bike route!

This is your chance to envision the future of bicycling in South Lake Union.

Bonus: Pronto! bike share will be there!

We are looking for volunteers to help build the pop-up bikeway and staff it throughout the day.

Sign up to volunteer and help make PARK(ing) Day a success>>
