Selling RSVP tickets

With RSVP 1 and 2 coming up, we've noticed some RSVP tickets up for sale on sites like Craiglist. We'd like to remind everyone that re-selling these tickets are against our agreement (which all Cascade event riders have signed in the registration process). Re-selling event registrations is not only unethical, it's a serious liability issue.

Here’s why:

  • Whoever buys the ticket from you is not considered a registered rider on the course and could potentially have their bib removed.
  • More importantly, when you registered for this event you signed the liability waivers. Having someone else ride with your assigned bib number creates a liability issue for you and the purchaser. In the event of an accident, you and the purchaser will be financially and legally liable for any action arising from the incident.
  • Finally, we send manifests to the Canadian government of the bikes and riders participating in the event. This manifest contains your, not the purchaser's, name and bike information. When the bib does not match the name on the passport, the person is pulled from the course, questioned and faces ejection from the ride.

Please do not sell your ticket. Read our refund policy here.

Thank you,

Cascade Bicycle Club staff
