Weekend Montlake pedestrian/bicycle bridge construction alert

Construction of the new pedestrian and bicycle bridge at the University of Washington Light Rail Station continues this weekend.

This week's work includes: Paving the Burke Gilman trail at the triangle, and cutting out the east southbound sidewalk for drilling and shoring. In order to build the bridge the contractor will need to close traffic lanes and sidewalks on Montlake Blvd. between NE Pacific Place and Street through the end of September on weekends and some weeknights.

Construction details for Saturday, Aug. 25 from 5 a.m. - 5 p.m.:

Northbound on Montlake Blvd.

  • The eastern northbound lane on Montlake Blvd will be closed. The sidewalk on the east side of the street will also be closed.
  • Pedestrians/Bicyclist: Use the sidewalk on the west side of Montlake Blvd for detour.
