Montlake pedestrian/bicycle bridge construction alert

Construction of the new pedestrian and bicycle bridge at the University of Washington Light Rail Station has started.  In order to build the bridge, the contractor will need to close traffic lanes and sidewalks on Montlake Blvd. between NE Pacific Place and Street through the end of September on weekends and some weeknights.  This weekend Metro will relocate trolley wires and install new light poles.

Saturday, Aug. 18, from 5 a.m. until 5 p.m:

- Southbound on Montlake Blvd:

Southbound bus lane on Montlake Blvd will be closed. The sidewalk on the west side of the street will close periodically throughout the day.

- Northbound on Montlake Blvd:

A single northbound lane on Montlake Blvd. including the east sidewalk will be closed.

Pedestrians/Bicyclists:  Use designated detour on the Montlake Triangle (see map).
