**CANCELLED** SLOW Ride to Car-Free Lake Washington Boulevard (Easy)

Ride with Senior Ladies On Wheels (SLOW) to experience Lake Washington Boulevard as it was meant to be - full of people enjoying a beautiful park! All riders of all ages and identities, beginners and veteran riders welcome, as long as you ride SLOW!  

Let's meet at Jimi Hendrix Park, under the red shelter. Be there, ready to go a few minutes before 10am. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.

We'll ride the bike trail through the I-90 bike tunnel, then ride through Colman Park to Lake Washington Blvd.  We'll stay together, letting the slowest rider set the pace. Don't worry, we won't hurry! We'll share the road with cars for about one block to reach the car-free stretch of Lake Washington Boulevard which takes us to Seward Park. Once we reach Seward Park, we may decide to ride the loop around the park before returning to the start. 

This is a Cascade Bicycle Club Free Group Ride. It's a social ride with experienced ride leaders to grow your confidence with group riding. It is free and open to everyone. We'll stop several times to admire the scenery.

"Easy Pace" is under 10 mph on flat surface without any headwind. Average walking speed is around 3 mph, so we will be about 3 times faster! If you aren't sure about your pace, please join us anyway. We will help you find your way back if you need to return to the start early. Carrying ORCA card is another good option.

You should dress appropriately for the weather, but you do not need spandex or other specialized bike gear. All you need is a working bike and a helmet. If you haven't ridden your bike for quite some time, please do a ABC Check (see link) or take it to your local bike shop a few days prior to the ride date.

Weather - steady rain will cancel the ride. The ride leader will be at the start of the ride regardless of the weather to negotiate with anyone who shows up.
