Bike Transit: West Seattle Water Taxi And Around Elliott Bay (Leisurely)

Combine a bike ride with transit across and around Elliott Bay at a Leisurely (10-12 mph average on flat ground) pace with us!

We will meet outside Pioneer Square Habitat Park (199 Alaskan Way, Seattle, WA 98104). Bike access is from the Waterfront Trail. Transit access is from Sound Transit's 1 Line light rail (Pioneer Square Station) a quarter of a mile away or a variety of King County Metro Bus routes (21, 56, 57, 113, 125, C Line, H Line) a block away. Parking can be found in nearby parking garages or paid on-street parking.

Please be ready to ride at 11:00 AM with required fare (cash/credit/ORCA card) for the water taxi. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that’s done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.

We will first head to the West Seattle Water Taxi, take our bicycles on board, and enjoy views of the Seattle skyline as we cruise across Elliott Bay. Then, we will ride along the Alki Trail and other trails around the south end of Elliott Bay to get back to the start. For those interested, after reaching the finish, we can keep riding north along the new Waterfront Trail just for fun.

There are a limited number of available bike racks on the boat, so we're limiting this ride to 20 participants.

This ride is expected to last around 2 hours (estimated finish at 1:00 pm).

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
