North Seattle Art Tour (2025 Edition)(Leisurely)

Join us for an art tour on a 9.2 mile route around north Seattle at a Leisurely (10-12 mph average on flat ground) pace!

We will meet at ground level at the south entrance to the Northgate light rail station (10200 1st Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98125). Bike access is from nearby neighborhood greenways including John Lewis Memorial Bridge over I-5. Parking can be found in adjacent parking lots. Transit access is from Sound Transit's 1 Line light rail (Northgate Station) and a variety of King County Metro Bus routes.

Please be ready to ride at 12:00 PM. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that’s done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.

We will visit a total of 17 artworks on this ride at which we will pause to enjoy them and possibly hear a story from the ride leader for a few minutes. There are restrooms near the start at Northgate light rail station (you will have to ask a security guard for access), and we will take a restroom & water break at Green Lake (mile 5.2). The ride ends at the University of Washington light rail station.

The route is mostly on paved roads, sidewalks, and trails with a few segments on grass and packed gravel.

Please note: due to all the starts and stops, this ride is expected to last around 3 hours (estimated finish at 3:00 pm) and will end at the University of Washington light rail station. Riders can take the light rail back to the start.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
