Let's meet near the day use restrooms at Riverside (Bowl & Pitcher) State Park. Be there, ready to go at the time listed above. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
Let's ride some rail trails! This scenic ride goes from the Riverside State Park (Bowl & Pitcher Area) in Spokane, WA, to Post Falls, ID and return. We will ride out and back on the Spokane River Centennial Trail & North Idaho Centennial Trail.
Note: I recommend that you camp at the Bowl & Picture State Park the night before the ride since it's a long drive (link to make reservation is to the right)! You will also need a Discover Pass to enter the park if you don't have a camping reservation (or purchase a one-day entrance at the gate). I have room for two other small tents on my site - you would just need to pay $10 for the extra vehicle to park when you check in at the gate (please contact me).
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, but the trails are fairly flat, so we should not need to keep regrouping. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH, occasionally 10 MPH).
Restrooms are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at miles 22 & 48, though there are other toilets noted on the RWGPS route. We’ll stop for lunch at Republic Kitchen & Taphouse at mile 36, then return after an hour.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If the weather forecast is for more than occasional sprinkles, I will cancel the ride by Friday, August 8, 2025, at 3pm. Be sure to check before you depart for the start location (since it's a long drive if you're not already in eastern Washington)!
We hope you can join us!
