Redmond History Ride (Leisurely)

Join us for a history ride from Marymoor Park on a 13 mile route around parts of Redmond at a Leisurely (10-12 mph average on flat ground) pace!

We will meet at the north end of parking lot I (as in "eye") close to the Jerry Baker Memorial Velodrome at Marymoor Park (6046 West Lake Sammamish Pkwy NE, Redmond, WA 98052). Bicycle access is off the Marymoor Connector Trail (off Sammamish River Trail & East Lake Sammamish Trail). Parking can be found in the adjacent parking lot (there are kiosks). Transit access includes Sound Transit bus routes 542 and 545 and King County Metro Bus routes 221, 250, and RapidRide B all with stops about 1-2 miles away.

Please be ready to ride at 1:00 PM. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that’s done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.

There are a total of 11 short stops on this ride during which the ride leader will tell a story about the history/geography/etc. for a couple of minutes. We will take restroom & water breaks at Sammamish Landing Park (mile 2.8) and Downtown Park (mile 9.9). There are restrooms near the start in Marymoor Park.

The route is mostly on paved roads and trails with a few short segments on packed gravel.

Please note: due to all of the starts/stops, this ride is expected to last around 3.5 hours (estimated finish around 4:30 pm).

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
