Join us for a Seattle bike tour from Northgate Station on a 25-ish mile one way route from Northgate to Rainier Beach at a Leisurely (10-12 mph average on flat ground) pace!
We will meet at the ground floor entrance to the Northgate light rail station (10200 1st Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98125). Parking can be found in adjacent parking lots. Transit access is from Sound Transit's 1 Line light rail (Northgate Station) and a variety of King County Metro Bus routes.
Please be ready to ride at 2:30 PM. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that’s done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
We will ride along a variety of Seattle bicycle infrastructure including trails, bike lanes, and more from the Northgate light rail station and end at the Rainier Beach light rail station. There are optional restroom & water breaks at Gas Works Park (mile 8.2), Seattle Center (mile 12.9), and Jefferson Park (mile 21.1). There are restrooms near the start at Northgate Station.
The route is mostly on paved roads and trails.
Please note: this ride is expected to last around 4 hours (estimated finish by 6:30 pm) and will end at Rainier Beach Station. Riders may use the light rail or local bike routes & trails to return to the start.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
