Southeast Seattle Bike Tour - Spring 2024 Edition (Leisurely)

Join us for a bike tour from the Jefferson Community Center on a 13-mile route through the Rainier Valley and Beacon Hill at a Leisurely (10-12 mph average on flat ground) pace!

We will meet next to the main entrance of Jefferson Community Center (3801 Beacon Ave S, Seattle, WA 98108). Bike access is from the nearby Beacon Hill neighborhood greenway. Parking can be found in adjacent parking lots. Transit access is from Sound Transit's 1 Line light rail (Beacon Hill Station) about a mile away and King County Metro Bus routes 36 (closest), 50, 60, & 107 serving stops adjacent to Jefferson Park.

Please be ready to ride at 1:00 PM. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that’s done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.

We will ride on a variety of bicycle infrastructure on this ride and visit a few interesting places and pause briefly to observe them. We will take a restroom & water break at Be'er Sheva Park (mile 7.3). There are restrooms near the start in Jefferson Park.

The route is mostly on paved roads and trails with a hundred or so feet on unpaved pathways.

Please note: this ride is expected to last around 2 hours (estimated finish by 3:00 pm).

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
