Course Description:
In this hands-on class, you’ll learn the fundamentals of drivetrain and shifting mechanics. Our step-by-step instructions will help you get your bike to shift and pedal more smoothly. You’ll learn how to properly maintain and adjust your drivetrain and shifting system.
Learn how to:
- Identify the parts of your drivetrain
 - Clean and lube your drivetrain
 - Inspect your drivetrain for common wear patterns and know when to replace parts
 - Adjust your front and rear derailleurs
 - Troubleshoot shifting problems
 - Small class size and low instructor to student ratios allow you to learn in a patient and supportive environment

Prerequisites: If you do not know if your bike has standard or electric shifting (electric shifting requires a charging) it may be best to start with our Maintenance for Every Rider class.
Type of bike this class is for:
-

Bring your own standard (non-electric) bike to adjust your shifting.
 -

We will not be teaching how to adjust electric shifting in this class.
 -

This class uses bike stands so please take any extra bags off of your seat post as that is often the best place to clamp.
 -

If you are unable to bring a bike to class one will be provided for you, but we cannot guarantee that it will have similar components to your personal bike.
