... of 15 spots remaining
Join us for a recreational ride from the East Marymoor Lot in Redmond on a 40 mile route at a steady pace of 12-14 MPH!
Our route takes us on Eastside trails and quiet country roads, beginning along the east shore of Lake Sammamish. We will continue with a gentle climb on the Snoqualmie Preston Trail, including a 3 mile hard-packed gravel section to our lunch stop at Aroma Coffee in Fall City at mile 22. After ascending the Sammamish Plateau and passing the shores of Beaver Lake, we will make our final descent via Inglewood Hill to rejoin the E Lake Sammamish Trail for our return to Marymoor.
Let's meet at the East Marymoor Park parking lot in Redmond (no parking fee) and please be ready to ride at 10 am. We will start with a required safety briefing and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
Our goal will be to stay together, but we will climb and descend hills at our own pace, regrouping when it is safe to do so. Please bring navigation aids, in case you find yourself substantially off of group pace and need to finish on your own. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH). NOTE: This route includes approximately 3.3 miles of packed gravel. A gravel bike is not required, but wider road bike tires (28mm+) may make this section more enjoyable.
Restrooms and water are available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at miles 9, 22 and 31. Bring money for lunch/coffee at Aroma Coffee at mile 22.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please be sure to have fenders if the roads are wet.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post cancelation at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
