Let's meet at the nw corner of the QFC parking lot on Novelty Hill Road, Redmond Ridge. Be there, ready to go at the time listed above. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
We will descend on Novelty Hill Road to the Snoqualmie Valley. Some of the riding will be on the Snoqualmie Valley Trail which is hard packed gravel, very rideable with a road bike in my opinion. We will climb Stillwater Hill and loop around east of Duvall, returning to the gravel trail and ride toward Carnation. Our last climb takes us up Union Hill Road back to the start.
We will stop at the Stillwater store at about mile 8. Other than that, there will be no commercial food opportunities. I plan to bring a sandwich and we'll find a roadside area to have an outdoor lunch. Please bring adequate fluids as well.
We will climb and descend at our own pace and we will regroup occasionally and at the top of the climbs. Riders are expected to keep the pace close enough to be in visual distance. If a rider falls seriously behind, the sweeper will not stay with that rider. Thus, everyone should have navigational ability and be able to either keep the pace with short regroups at top of climbs or ride independently.
Water and restrooms are available in QFC at the start.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat. In the event of separation due to flat tires or other problems, have the route filed into a GPS device or have a cue sheet. Cue sheets are not available at the start.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is canceled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
