... of 10 spots remaining
Let us meet us at in the Luther Burbank parking lot and be ready to ride at 10:00am. We will start with a route preview and safety briefing. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate. Restrooms are available at the start and at the nearby Mercer Island Community Center.
After leaving Luther Burbank, we will follow North Mercer Way and then cross the I-90 bridge. We will spend some time on the I-90 trail, Eastrail and Lake Washington Blvd. Our lunch stop is at Panera at The Landing in Renton at around mile 10. From Renton, we'll head north on the west side of the lake and enjoy Seward Park at mile 17, where we'll have our final restroom stop. We'll take the I90 trail back to Mercer Island.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, but we will generally stay together along the route. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH, occasionally 10 MPH).
A working white headlight and a red rear taillight are suggested to participate. Please help out your fellow cyclists by ensuring you have full fenders. If not, you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group. Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to consider bringing: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
