TREATS: Option 2: North Lake Loop (Steady)

Enjoy an almost traffic free ride from Woodinville counterclockwise around the north end of Lake Washington past UW, across the 520 bridge, and back north along the Sammamish River. We will ride on the Sammamish, Burke-Gilman, 520, and Bear Creek trails with less than 2 miles spent on roadways. Except for 8 miles between the end of the 520 bridge and Redmond, the ride is nearly flat. Where there are hills, we will climb and descend at our own rate and regroup at the top or bottom. 

Let's meet by the pergola across the street from the parking lot at the Woodinville Playfields. A public restroom is available nearby. We will plan on rest stops at Mathews Beach (mile 10.5) and at Starbucks in Redmond (mile 28.1). 

We’ll ride at a Steady Pace of 12-14 MPH on the flats when there is no wind. Our goal will be to stay together as best we can, and we’ll make sure we're together at the top of climbs. 

In case of separation from the group due to flat tires or other problems, riders should download the route file into a GPS device or have a cue sheet. Cue sheets are not available at the start. Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

If you realize you won't be able to make it to the ride after all, please cancel your registration (at least a few hours before ride start time if possible) to open a spot for other riders.  Click on the green "Register or Cancel" button and follow the prompts.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status, or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride, and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
