TREATS: Eastgate-Somerset-Kirkland (Steady)

... of 10 spots remaining
Let's meet at the Eastgate Park-and-Ride in Bellevue. We will park on level 4, at the southwest corner of that level. Be ready to ride at the time listed above. We will start with the required safety briefing and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate. If you plan to join enroute, please contact the ride leader in advance to arrange for a safety briefing.
We will ride east on SE 36th, then up to Newport Way and over to Highland Drive to climb through the Somerset neighborhood. Forest Drive and Coal Creek Parkway will take us back to the I 90 trail and a brief stop at Enatai Beach Park. We will then head north through Beaux Arts and the Chism Park area to downtown Bellevue, then through Vuecrest to the Queen Bee on Points Drive for lunch. After lunch, we will continue north to downtown Kirkland and take the Cross Kirkland Trail to Totem Lake. We'll then take the 128th Ave Greenway through North Rose Hill, Old Redmond Road to the 520 trail and Microsoft campus, and the East Bellevue Greenway back to the park and ride (via Bellevue College).
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace and will regroup when necessary. Riders should be able to sustain a 12-14 mile per hour pace on the flats with a commensurate level of effort on the hills.
Restrooms and water are not available at the start, though Last Frontier Coffee and Starbucks are within a mile of the start. We'll make brief stops at Enatai Beach Park at mile 7.5 and Grass Lawn Park at mile 25.5. Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring are a phone, ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, the Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
