Registration Now Open
... of 10 spots remaining
Let's meet at Lake Boren Park in Newcastle, at the southwest corner of the parking lot. Be ready to ride at the time listed above. We will start with the required safety briefing and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate. If you plan to join enroute, please contact the ride leader in advance to arrange for a safety briefing.
We will ride east on May Valley Road, to a brief stop at the Tiger Mountain Store, then onto Tiger Mountain Road for the major climb of the ride, 2.5 miles on a quiet road. We'll have a nice downhill back to the Issaquah-Hobart road before moving south to our lunch stop at Panera in Maple Valley. After lunch, we'll have about 2 miles of packed gravel trail next to Lake Wilderness before hopping onto the Cedar River Trail. At Ron Regis Park, we'll head up 154th, a half-mile hill, before hitting the East Renton Highlands neighborhood and a straight shot back to the start.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace and will regroup when necessary. Riders should be able to sustain a 12-14 mile per hour pace on the flats with a commensurate level of effort on the hills.
Restrooms and water are available at the start in Lake Boren Park, and we'll make a brief porta-potty stop at the Tiger Mountain Store. Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring are a phone, ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, the Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
