... of 10 spots remaining
Let's meet at the East Lake Sammamish Trail parking lot, west of the Whole Foods Market in Redmond. (If you cannot find parking at the trailhead, the Marymoor light rail station is close by and has parking.) Be ready to ride at the time listed above. We will start with the required safety briefing and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate. If you plan to join enroute please contact the ride leader in advance to arrange for a safety briefing.
We will ride south on West Lake Sammamish Parkway, then up 172nd to get to the East Bellevue Greenway. We will connect to the I-90 Trail and head east to the ped/bike bridge, a short, steep climb over I-90, then a bit of Newport Way to 164th, a 2.5 mile hill. Continuing up and over by Lewis Creek Park, we'll enjoy a nice downhill to our midpoint stop at the Newcastle Safeway. We'll wind our way west and north to the Eastrail, then press north on 116th and 112th to the Spring District. Finally, we'll take the 520 trail to the Microsoft campus, then through campus, down Bel-Red and back to Marymoor.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace and will regroup when necessary. Riders should be able to sustain a 12-14 mile per hour pace on the flats with a commensurate level of effort on the hills.
Restrooms and water are available in Marymoor Park near the start. Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring are a phone, ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, the Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us.
