Join us for a ride from Marymoor Park's East Lot in Redmond on a 35 mile route at Steady Pace (12-14 mph).
This route takes us along the west side of Lake Sammamish and up a nice, long climb on Newport and 164th. An enjoyable descent will bring us to our early lunch stop at Town & Country/Starbucks in Newcastle at around mile 13. Town & Country has great indoor and outdoor seating areas. From there, we will wind our way north through Bellevue and then back to the start. We will have a restroom stop at Newcastle Beach Park at mile 20 and an optional stop at Grass Lawn Park at around mile 31.
Let's meet at the East Marymoor Lot (no parking fee) and please be ready to ride at 10 am. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, regrouping at the top. Please bring a map/cue sheet/navigation device. We will regroup frequently but if a rider is not able to keep the pace overall, we may ask you to ride the rest of the ride on your own.
Water and restrooms are available at the start.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
