Wear your Halloween costume and or decorated helmet and we will have some seasonal fun as we ride down the trail in costume. Don't worry if you don't have a costume, just come as you are.
Please make sure your costume doesn't have loose, flowing, or dangling pieces that could get caught in your bicycle's wheels, chain, or other moving parts, or interfere with other riders. Costumes should also allow you to see clearly and safely operate your bicycle.
Let's meet at the Wayne Park Bothell. Be there, ready to go at 10:30 AM. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
We will head out to the scenic Sammamish Valley and do a partial loop then return to the North Shore Senior Center (NSSC) in Bothell. A variety of homemade pies with whipped or ice cream are available for purchase at a reasonable price. We will be there for about 30 minutes. It's a short 1/2 mile back to Wayne Park Bothell and the cars.
Route: Enjoy this scenic ALL TRAIL bike ride along the Eastrail, Redmond Central Connector, PSE Trail and Sammamish River Trail. There is a 1.4 mile section of unpaved trail on the Eastrail which is easy to cycle on.
The terrain is flat.
Pace: Steady Pace (12-14mph)
Cue sheets: No cue sheets provided. Stay together ride.
Fenders: If the riding surfaces are wet, please come equipped with fenders long enough to keep the person riding behind you dry or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Be Prepared: Bring a spare tube to fix a flat, just in case. Dress for the weather in layers that can be added or taken off. Other things to bring are water bottle and a small snack.
Parking: Free parking at the Wayne Park Bothell parking lot.
Restrooms: Available at the start (portable toilet). We will stop along the way for restrooms/water in 3.3 miles at Wilmont Gateway Park. We’ll also stop for pie, coffee, or ice cream at the NSSC at 16.3 mile.
Weather Cancellation: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is canceled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride location.
We hope you can join us!
