PIE RIDE: We will ride the Sammamish River Trail through Marymoor Park to the North Shore Senior Center (NSSC) in Bothell. The plan is to arrive at the same time as the group coming from Matthews Beach. We then take a pie or cookie break at NSSC. A variety of homemade pies with whipped or ice cream, sodas and coffee are usually available for riders to purchase for short money. Please note: purchases may be with cash(small bills please), charge or debit cards (plastic purchases are a minimum of $1.00). We will be there for about 30 minutes, then return. We detour to include a small hill on the way back to burn a few of the calories we just took on board.
Route: Come, have fun, converse and enjoy this social bike ride along the Sammamish River Trail. The terrain is flat.
Pace: Moderate Pace. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH).
Fenders: If the riding surfaces are wet, please come equipped with fenders long enough to keep the person riding behind you dry or be the caboose.
Ride start: Please be ready to ride at 11:15 a.m. We will start with a required safety briefing and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate. Note: Porta Potty available at the start, but no water.
Be Prepared: Be prepared if you have a mechanical problem e.g. flat tire or have a rescue plan, e.g. bus pass (ORCA card).
Parking: Park in the lot West of (and on the other side of the fence from) Whole Foods. This can be confusing due to construction, but look for Stone Korean Restaurant on the corner of NE 70th St. and the parking lot.
Weather cancellation: If weather conditions meet the weather cancelation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride location.
If you have questions, please contact the Ride Leader.
