... of 10 spots remaining
Join us for a ride from Wayne Park in Bothell on a 21.8 mile route at leisurely pace at 10-12 MPH! The ride includes cycling on the Totem Lake Connector Bridge.
Enjoy a ride with a variety of terrain combining two trails and Kirkland roads with some hills. There is free parking and a portable toilet available at the start. Leave the Sammamish River trail at the Wayne Park Bothell and head uphill on Kirkland roads (detour around the construction site on 100th Ave NE) leading to downtown Kirkland. We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to regroup occasionally. We will cycle 5 miles on the flat compact dirt/gravel Cross Kirkland Corridor trail suitable for all tires. The group will break at Starbucks at Houghton Center for coffee and a social at mile 9.7. We'll encounter the raised Totem Lake Connector pedestrian/bike bridge, with views of Totem Lake, and cycle over it. Then we'll transition to the flat, paved and scenic Sammamish River trail and head north toward Bothell. There are restrooms and water available at Wilmot Gateway Park in Woodinville. From there, it's back to the Wayne Park Bothell and the start of the ride.
Meet at 10:00 AM at the Wayne Park Bothell parking lot to ready your bicycle, listen to a safety briefing, meet other riders and get route information.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Make sure your bike is in good working order. Please bring a full water bottle and some snacks for energy. Helmets are required!
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
