Cascade Training Series
CTS Pre-Series Pace Ride (Green - 14-16 mph)
Event has already happened.
... of 45 spots remaining
So, you've signed up for the Cascade Training Series (CTS) but aren't sure what pace you can ride. Don't worry, we have you covered!
If you know your CTS pace and just want to meet other riders, come join us as well! All CTS participants are welcome.
Come join us for a 27 mile pre-CTS ride that will help you better gauge your pace. This posting is for Green, but the ride is being offered in all four CTS paces (red, yellow, green and blue) so please sign up for the one you feel best suited for. It will give a variety of terrain (flat, short steep hills, longer gradual hills) and by the end you should know what pace you can start CTS at.
This ride meets at 60 Acres Park in Redmond (furthest SE parking lot) and please be ready to ride at 9:30. We will start with a required safety briefing and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate. The ride will be 27 miles and will take us into Education Hill, English Hill, Woodinville and Bothell. A port-a-potty is available at the start, but no water is available so please fill up at home.
Ride Notes: All riders should bring ID; spare tube, tools, patch kit, pump, and skills to fix flats; a phone and a plan for rescue if your bike fails; and snacks and water. Groups will not wait for mechanicals. It’s spring, so please dress appropriately and use fenders with long mudflaps on your bike or you will be asked to ride at the back of the group. Please download or print the Ride with GPS route if needed, ride leaders will not have copies.
If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
