Green River & Interurban Trail Loop from Three Friends Fishing Hole (Easy)
Ride Contact
... of 15 spots remaining
Join us for an autumn ride on a segment of the Green River Trail at an easy pace (<10 mph, slowest rider sets the pace).
We will meet at Three Friends Fishing Hole in Kent, at the picnic shelter. Please note, the bathrooms at this park are locked for the season. Bathrooms and drinking water are available at mile 2 and 10 on this route at Van Doren’s Landing Park.
To avoid construction on the trail and to explore connecting trail, segments of this ride will be on Frager Road which is mostly car-free but may have an occasional vehicle. From the start we will travel south on the Green River Trail. At Van Doren’s Landing we will cross the river and continue south on Frager Road traveling between a municipal golf course, parks and farmland (including a pumpkin patch) where there are sweeping views south to Mt. Rainier. We’ll cross West Valley Highway to return briefly to the Green River Trail, before turning north on the Interurban Trail. From the Interurban we will take the Puget Power Trail westbound, skirting the Green River Natural Resources Area to rejoin the Green River Trail at Van Doren’s Landing and head north back to the start point.
Please be ready to ride at 12 noon. We will start with a required safety briefing and roll out when that’s done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.
We hope you can join us!
