Tour De Brunch - Tacoma - Cooks Tavern (Moderate)

How about a Sunday morning autumn brunch ride? Cooks Tavern is a top stop for brunch in Tacoma and somehow I have ridden by many times and have never eaten there -  let's fix that!  We'll work up an appetite on a fun Tacoma loop, going by Wright Park, through Point Defiance Park and along Ruston Way. After the ride, anyone who wishes can join us for brunch. 

There is street parking in the neighborhood around the restaurant. Please be in front of the restaurant, ready to go, at the time listed above. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.

We will climb and descend hills at our own pace and will regroup after hills and before turns if we are spread out. For the few small sections of the route along shared use paths,  we will slow down as appropriate for the safety and comfort of all users. 

We'll be on Ruston Way mid-ride, there are public washrooms there and we will stop if needed to use them. 

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
