Let's meet at the Sammamish River Trail Parking Lot. Be there, ready to go at the time listed above. We will start with a required safety briefing and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
Speed Average: This ride will be above 22 MPH on the flats with commensurate efforts on rollers and climbs. This is Cascade's Super Strenuous pace that requires both fitness and the ability to ride smoothly in a fast group.
We will be on the Sammamish River Trail to start, socializing and adhering to the posted speed limit of 15 MPH.
Drop Policy: This is a semi-drop ride. We will do our best to keep the group together, and we will occasionally regroup, however, the group will not wait for someone significantly off the overall pace of the other riders. If that happens, you'll be riding independently and should have the route loaded and be prepared to navigate solo.
Ride Description: We'll warm up on the Sammamish River Trail, then ratchet our pace up on the flats near the Woodinville wineries before tackling climbs and rollers through Bothell, Brier, and Kenmore on our way back to the start.
Restrooms are available at the start. There will be no planned rest stops for this short ride.
Navigation: In the event of separation due to mechanical or other problems, riders should download the route file into a GPS device or have another method of navigating on their own.
Mechanical issues: Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. The group will not wait for mechanical breakdowns. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water; and a small snack.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
