Let’s meet at Chambers Bay at the Environmental Building parking lot. Please arrive with enough time to get yourself and your bike ready so that you’re ready to roll at the time listed above.
We’ll kick things off with a required safety briefing, then hit the road as soon as it’s complete. All riders must attend the safety briefing in order to participate.
This weekend, bring your climbing legs—we’re going on a seriously fun tour of the southern tip of the Kitsap Peninsula!
We’ll start at beautiful Chambers Bay, cross the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, and head toward Fox Island for some fantastic South Sound riding. From there, we’ll make our way into Gig Harbor for lunch before continuing south toward Olalla, where a tasty treat at the Olalla Bay Market may be calling our name. We’ll check out Olalla Bay, soak up some more scenery, and then point the bikes south for the ride back to Chambers Bay.
And yes: there will be hills. Plenty of them. That’s part of the fun. Riders can tackle the climbs and descents at their own pace, and we’ll regroup periodically so everyone gets a chance to enjoy the route without feeling like they have to race every hill.
On multi-use paths, we’ll keep our speed within the posted legal limit—usually 15 mph, and occasionally 10 mph.
Restrooms are available at the start.

Please come prepared to take care of yourself and your bike. Bring a spare tube and the tools you need to fix a flat. You should also carry your phone, ID, cash and/or credit card, ORCA card, water, and a small snack.
If the roads are wet, please have full fenders. Riders without adequate fenders may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
As always, safety comes first. If weather conditions meet the cancellation criteria listed in the Weather Status, or if unforeseen hazards or other circumstances make the ride unsafe, the Ride Leader may cancel the ride. Registered riders will receive an email notification if that happens. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the scheduled start, the Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location, so please check the ride status before leaving home.
Come ready for a big day of hills, bridges, waterfront views, good food, and some of the best riding the South Sound has to offer. We hope you’ll join us!
