Ocean Shores Tour (Leisurely)

Let's meet at the Ocean Shores Convention Center.  Be there, ready to go at the time listed above. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done.  All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.

Escape the Summer heat and wild fire smoke.  Come on a leisurely bicycle tour of the residential areas Ocean Shores.  Enjoy the slower pace of this vacation community and enjoy views of the Pacific Ocean, Oyhut Bay, Minard Lake, Duck Lake, Grays Harbor and the extensive canal system (patterned after the city of Venice).  Before lunch we will stop at The Market at Oyhut (mile 8.8) where you can purchase snacks and some baked goods.  Lunch will be at the Coastal Interpretive Center (mile 13.3) but there is no food for sale there. 

There are no hills.  We will stay together.  We'll limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum.

Restrooms are not available at the start. We will stop along the way for restrooms/water at lunch at 13.3 miles. We’ll also stop for coffee/snacks at The Market at Oyhut at mile 8.8.

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. 

This Route does not include any segments on the sandy beach.  Before or after the ride you are welcome to drive your vehicle onto the beach and enjoy the waves and ocean breeze. There are numerous access points throughout Ocean Shores. 

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
