Fourth of July Renton to Black Diamond Bakery Ride (Steady)
... of 30 spots remaining
Let's meet at the Old Renton City Hall at 200 Mill Ave S in Renton. Be there, ready to go at the time listed above. We will begin with a required safety briefing and roll out immediately afterward. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
Join us for a scenic 47-mile Fourth of July ride from Old Renton City Hall to Black Diamond Restaurant & Bakery. We'll follow the Cedar River Trail and Witte Road to the bakery (mile 20.4), where we'll enjoy a coffee and pastry stop before returning via Auburn-Kent-Black Diamond Road and Wax Road. Our pace will be a steady 12–13 mph on flat terrain in calm conditions. On multi-use paths, we'll observe posted speed limits (generally 15 mph, and 10 mph on the Renton section of the Cedar River Trail). We'll climb and descend hills at our own pace and regroup frequently to keep the group together. The ride will take approximately 4 and 3/4 hours, including a 30-minute coffee stop at Black Diamond bakery. A GPS route map and cue sheet are available through the link in the ride details.
Restrooms: There are no potable restrooms at the start location. We'll make our first restroom stop at the portable toilets at Ron Regis Park (mile 3.0), which does not have running water.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We'll look forward to riding with you!
