Renton to Ristretto's Coffee (Steady)

Let's meet at the Old Renton City Hall (200 Mill Ave S) parking lot in Downtown Renton.  Please arrive ready to ride at the scheduled start time listed above. We will begin with a required safety briefing, and roll out promptly afterward. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate. 

Join us for a scenic 46.7 miles ride from Old Renton City Hall to Ristretto’s Coffee at Lake Sawyer. The route follows the Cedar River Trail and Witte Road out to Ristretto’s, where we’ll enjoy a coffee and refreshment on their deck. The return route travels via Auburn/Kent/Black Diamond Rd, Wax Rd and Witte Rd.  We will maintain a steady pace of 12 to 14 mph on flat terrain and when there is no wind.  On multi-use trails, we will observe posted speed limits (typically 15 MPH and 10 MPH on the section of Cedar River Trail in Renton). We'll climb and descend hills at our own pace, and we will regroup at key points. The ride will take approximately 4.5 hours, including a 20-minute coffee stop.  

Restrooms and water are available near the start location at Renton Community Center (mile 0.4).  We will stop at Ristretto's Coffee at mile 15.5 for coffee and snacks. An optional restroom stop is available at McDonald's in Covington (mile 33).

Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. If roads are wet, please use full fenders. Riders without fenders may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the club's weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
