Join us for a ride that's a bit different from Redmond on a 34 mile route at Steady pace (12-14mph)!
Our ride will take us from Redmond across 520 all the way to the Ballard Locks where we will take in a free 1-hour outdoor concert by the Kirkland Civic Orchestra starting at 2pm. You may want to bring a picnic along with you, and please keep in mind that you’ll cool down once we get to the concert.
Please park in the Idylwood Park overflow parking lot on 177th Ave NE a short ride from the Park. (Idylwood Park Additional Parking on Google Maps).
Let's meet at the Idylwood Park parking lot at 11:15am. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. If you miss the briefing you will not be able to ride with the group.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace, and our goal will be to stay together.
Restrooms/water are available at the start and at the Locks. We will also stop at Gas Works Park on the way there (mile 13) and back for restrooms.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If the concert is cancelled, or If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed above or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will post a ride-canceled note in the Comments section below at least two hours prior to the start and Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location.

- Riders under 18 years old require parental consent & approval from the Ride Leader.
Event Announcements
Hi all, the orchestra won’t make a final decision until 11am, just before we’re starting the ride. The weather (at least some weather apps say so) looks iffy for the orchestra but mostly ok for us.
My current thinking is that we meet at the start line and either do the full ride (if the orchestra goes ahead) or a slightly abbreviated ride to the UW and back (24 mi), if the concert is canceled. But we can all decide that when we meet.

Hello all,
just a reminder that the ride might be cancelled if the orchestra decides to cancel their concert due to rain.
Currently the weather looks favorable for the concert at 2pm, so the ride is still ON.
I will post a final update by 9:30am on Saturday.
