Renton to Green River Gorge and Black Diamond Bakery Ride (Steady)

Let's meet at the Old Renton City Hall, 200 Mill Ave S. Please arrive ready to ride at the time listed above. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out once it is complete.  All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.

Join us on a 57-mile scenic and challenging ride from Old Renton City Hall to the Green River Gorge and to Black Diamond Bakery.  Our route follows the Cedar River trail and Lake Francis Road through Cumberland and Green River Gorge, then loops back through Black Diamond, Lake Wilderness and Witte Road.  The first half of the ride is a gradual climb while the second half is mostly downhill.

We'll climb and descend hills at our own pace and regroup frequently along the route. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH, occasionally 10 MPH). 

Restrooms are available near the start. We'll make a restroom and water stop at Ravensdale Park around mile 19 followed by for a 20-minute coffee and snack break at Black Diamond Bakery around mile 34.  

Please bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat tire, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Please have full fenders if the roads are wet, or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.

Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
