Join us for a 66-mile ride at a Vigorous pace (18-20 mph on the flats) from the Jeanne Hansen Community Park in Snoqualmie Ridge.
This is going to be a FUN ride. Highlights start right away with a fast decent from Alice Lake down into Fall City. We will do a flyby past Snoqualmie Falls. Next, we will take a peek at what's going on up the Tokul Road before we head over to attack the Rattlesnake Lake climb. The Middle Fork is next on the agenda before heading back to the start up the grueling climb to the top of Snoqualmie Ridge. Everyone knows this climb finishes at the soceer fields, right? We will start and finish at our Highest Point of the ride! This ride will leave you feeling accomplished with just the right amount of spice!!!
Let's meet near the north end of the parking lot at Jeanne Hansen Community Park. There is plenty of parking. Be there, ready to go by 9:00am. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
Restrooms and water are available at the start. We will take our main rest stop at the Gull Gas Station & Market at MP 30.0. There are additional food and beverage options across the street at the TA Travel Center. We will also stop breifly at Torguson Park (or alternatively, the QFC nearby) at MP 57.7 to refill our water bottles before the last climb. If needed, there is water available in the campgroup at the top of the middle fork at MP 42.5. We will regroup as needed to keep the group togeather and we will stop at the tops of the climbs to slap each other on the back and acknowledge our accomplishments.
We will climb and descend hills at our own pace with regroups at the top of climbs. While we will endeavor to stay together, this is a fast paced ride and riders who are unable to maintain the pace and fall substantially behind the group may be dropped. If this happens, you will be riding independently and should have the route loaded and be prepared to navigate on your own. We'll also limit our speed on any multi-use paths to the legal maximum (usually 15 MPH, occasionally 10 MPH).
In the event of separation due to flats or other problems, riders should download the route file into a GPS device or have or have another method of navigating on their own
Bring a spare tube (or two) and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Riders should know how to change a flat, or deal with other minor mechanical issues and carry appropriate tools. Riders must have a backup plan if roadside repairs are not sufficient. Riders should have a charged cell phone to call for a pick-up or other means to find their way home. Please have long fenders if the roads are wet or you may be asked to ride at the rear of the group.
Note: If weather conditions meet the weather cancellation criterion listed in the Weather Status or if there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, the Ride Leader will cancel the ride and all registered riders will be sent a notification email. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leader(s) will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
We hope you can join us!
