Let's meet at the Auburn Fred Meyer at 6:00. Come early if you need to buy snacks and water, or use the bathroom. We will start with a required safety briefing, and roll out when that's done. All riders must attend the safety briefing to participate.
HOOA! We ride Hills Out Of Auburn at a vigorous pace. Wednesdays are Short High Intense Training rides with plenty of opportunity cook up some lactic acid and burn in it! We attack the hills, we attack the rollers, and descend like we stole the bike we're sitting on. This ride starts out with a quick warm up, then some punchy climbs up to the Lake Holmes area. Then we play around in the areas of Lake Morton, Lake Sawyer, Black Diamond, and Lake Moneysmith.
We will SEND IT up the hills and down the hills at our own pace, and then regroup. Then SEND IT again to the next regrouping, and so on.
Lucky for us, there are no multi use paths to worry about the 15mph speed limit!
There are no coffee or pastries stops on this ride, we will have one stop at the Lake Morton boat launch (mile 15) to tinkle, and choke down a snack before our second half of suffering!
We plan on being back well before sunset, but bring lights just in case.
Bring a spare tube and tools to fix a flat, just in case. Other things to bring: phone; ID; cash and/or credit card; ORCA card; water and a small snack. Don't worry about fenders, its not raining.
NOTE: Regardless of weather, we're riding. If there are unforeseen hazardous riding conditions or other unexpected events, we will reroute and carry on. If the ride is cancelled at least two hours before the start, Ride Leaders will not be at the start location. Please check before leaving for the ride.
This is the Short High Intense Training you've been waiting for. HOOA!
